EduGrade ("the app", "we") helps teachers scan and grade multiple-choice answer sheets. This policy describes the data we process, why, and your rights. By using EduGrade, you agree to this policy.
The teaching data you enter — classes, students (name, ID, email, phone, address, parent details), exams, answer keys, grading results, scanned answer-sheet images, and your teacher profile — is stored locally on your device. This data is not sent to our servers.
Backups are encrypted with industry-standard encryption and stored on your device. You may optionally sync them to your own cloud storage (such as Google Drive). We cannot access your cloud data.
| Data type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| A device identifier | Identifies your device to manage feature usage limits (such as exam shuffling and AI-assisted answer recognition) and to activate licenses. The app does not require you to sign in or create an account. |
| Usage data (screen views, taps, purchase events, scan counts) | Anonymous analytics to improve the app. Does not include students' personal information. |
| Diagnostics (crash reports, performance) | To detect and fix problems. |
| Advertising identifier — only with your permission | To show more relevant ads and measure their performance. You are asked explicitly via the system tracking prompt; if you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalized. |
| Answer-sheet images (only when you use AI recognition) | When you actively use the AI answer-recognition feature, sheet images are sent to a third-party AI service for processing. See section 4. |
The app needs camera access to scan answer sheets, and photo library access to open previously captured sheets. Images are processed on your device unless you actively use the AI feature (section 4).
We use trusted third-party providers for analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, advertising, and — only when you actively use AI answer recognition — AI image processing. These providers process data on their own infrastructure under their own privacy policies. We share only what each service needs to function, and never students' personal information.
EduGrade offers subscriptions (Pro, Max) and one-time purchases (remove ads, lifetime license). Payments are handled by Google through your Google Play account. We do not collect or store any payment details.
EduGrade is a general-audience app with no age restriction. Any student information entered by a teacher is stored locally on that teacher's device.
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version.
